Biography

Born and raised in Compton, California the era where many would say music begun it’s true transition and growth, Steven Lamar Moore grew up in the mix of hip-hop, jazz, and old school soul music.

As a high school honor student, he earned a full football Athletic Scholarship to the University of Oregon, where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Sociology in June, 2005. After many different career paths, including serving as an Intern/Assistant to Music Executive Michael McQuarn for two years, Lamar realized his true passion was music so he enrolled in The Academy of Art University San Francisco to pursue a Master’s of Fine Arts degree in Music Composition with a concentration on film scoring, graduating in May, 2017.

An award-winning Film Composer, Lamar scored on the award-winning film: “CAGED” directed by Nick Power-Gomez and produced by Olivia Yang which has been selected to seven film festivals: The London Lift Off 2016, The Auckland International Film Festival 2017 in New Zealand, The New York Independent Film Festival  2017, The Los Angeles Lift Off Film Festival 2017 , The San Francisco Media Choice Awards 2017, The Vancouver Lift Off Film Festival (Audience Choice Awards winner), and The Court Metrage Festival De Cannes 2017 in France. Steven has also composed for the highly regarded film "KINGS", directed by Jaamal Scott. KINGS was selected to four film festivals: Toronto Black Film Festival (2018), "The British Urban Film Festival (2018)", "The BronzeLens Film Festival (2018)", and "The Morehouse College Human Rights Film Festival (2019)". KINGS was previously being aired on Revolt's TV "indie film series" in 2019-2020. Steven has also recently scored short film "Standoff" (2019). It was selected to the "Silver State Film Festival" in Las Vegas (2019), and the "Marina Del Rey Film Festival" (2019)

As a Music producer, his collaborations range from Hip Hop to R&B artists such as: Problem, Bishop Lamont, and many more. Multi-platinum producer Warren G has stated, that Lamar's "Music made me feel good, and took me to another place." Certainly, this will not be the only top producer in the industry to praise his work.

As an artist, he has produced the versatile Soundtrack Instrumental Jazz album “Feel. Good. Cool.” His first solo project (2017). And his most recent EP "Scores & Moore",  released August 22th, 2020.

On April 1st, 2021, new single "Carter" will be available on all digital platforms. It will be apart of the chill hop/lofi series where new music will be releasing every month following April 1st for the remainder of the year.
